  • Charting Our Own Course: Celebrating Women's History Month
    This program was designed to enhance the visibility of Muslim women from diverse ethnic, cultural and professional backgrounds to the general public. It projects dynamic Muslim women as role models for women who aspire to become social justice advocates. In celebration of Women's History Month, each March, WII, Inc. celebrates Muslim women who are active is some area of public life, allowing them a chance to discusses their challenges and experiences and offer their mentorship. Programs include:

    2006:  Muslim Women in the Public Square
    2005:  Dialogue for Self Healing; Healing Techniques for Empowerment


  • Lectures on Human Rights and Social Justice
    Our forums seek to promote critical and independent thinking on key issues affecting our community and humanity at large. We often address issues that are pressing in the news, but speakers provide alternative viewpoints not readily available in mainstream media or in the community. A few past programs include:

  • Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial Lecture & Award Ceremony: Honoring Women Who Dedicate Their Lives to Others  
    Since 2002, Women In Islam, Inc. has been celebrating the example and legacy of Dr. Betty Shabazz annually in our Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial Lecture and Award Ceremony.
